As the chief academic officer for Caltech, the provost is responsible
for
overseeing all of the Institute's research and educational programs. Working
closely with the president, division chairs, and the offices of Student
Affairs, Business and Finance, Institute Relations, the Jet Propulsion
Laboratory, and the General Counsel, the provost establishes priorities
and
allocates resources to Caltech's research and educational programs.
The provost and the Office of the Provost also directly administer several
awards that support research and education across multiple divisions.
